As a Dowling College graduate, Krista Giannak double-majored in communication arts and psychology, and has written freelance features and articles for Hotel Interactive, an online hospitality industry trade journal. She has helped raise funds and developed written materials for both the Suffolk Independent Living Organization (SILO), a Long Island, New York cross-disability advocacy and human rights organization, and the Long Island chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Ms. Giannak also interned in the office of New York State Senator Lack, and helped organize various projects at the Helen Keller Services for the Blind.
